I think we are all aware of what is happening right now in the U.S. A lot of changes have been introduced by the new leader, some have even been reversed already. Putting all the controversies Trump has sparked and the outrage he has caused aside - I think we can actually learn something from this situation.
Trump discriminates against people based on their origin, their religion, their gender, .... But: in doing so, doesn't he make us aware of the fact how unfair it is to, for example, deny people to come into a country purely based on identifying with a certain religion? Making you feel unwelcome just you come from a state he regards as being negative? I think he shows us what happens all around us and just makes it more prominent, magnifies it. At least, he can serve as an example how we as individuals should NOT treat other people. And I'm not talking about criminals here but about people who have done nothing wrong, but are discriminated against nevertheless. Maybe we should just make the best out of this situation and make a difference by just judging differently.

How to overcome racism?
Wednesday, 8 February 2017
It starts with you!
No matter where you are from or where you are, the first step in stopping racism is you – not others! You alone can do so many things yourself to overcome what others haven’t yet.
I’ve checked out several lists of what you can do and will
summarize the most important points here:
1. Be aware of your current opinions and prejudices
2. Do some research about your prejudices and widen your horizons
3. If you observe racist actions, say something or get help
4. Don’t use racist jokes, memes, pictures, examples anymore
5. Try to keep an open mind, even if you feel unfamiliar with new cultures
6. Tell others about your new opinions and help others
